A barometer is a measuring instrument for the determination of the static absolute air pressure. Being used for meteorological purposes, the station barometer indicates the aerostatic air pressure at local altitude. In order to compare the measuring value with other air pressure values several corrections, such as altitude correction, are necessary. Only after the corrected calculations of the read value the air pressure value can be compared with other values.
An instrument designed to measure and test atmospheric air pressure in meteorological stations, laboratories etc. The instrument is equipped with an additional thermometer.
Note: The measuring instrument and its variations is not meant for the sale to the general public, and is not to be used for commercial and industrial purposes, see also http://www.reach-info.de/verordnungstext.htm
