DLR sensor technology from Thies CLIMA - smarter use of grid capacities
Dynamic Line Rating (DLR) allows the capacity of overhead lines to be better utilized. Our sensors measure precise wind and weather data, which serve as the basis for dynamic load optimization - enabling up to 30 % higher line loads. This prevents grid bottlenecks without expensive new construction.
Welcome to the future of weather monitoring with the WSC Advanced Weather Station!
Designed for building management systems, agriculture, traffic control, and smart city applications, the WSC Advanced offers precise meteorological data and reliable forecast insights. Wide scope of available measured values, including wind speed, air pressure, precipitation, and global radiation, the WSC Advanced integrates advanced features into a user-friendly design ...

We would like to inform you about our long-standing successful partnership with RR Kommunal . For over a decade, the Thies CLIMA Laser Precipitation Monit (LPM) has been providing data for monitoring and controlling the Austrian highway and expressway network (ASFINAG) . The device provides precise data on the type and intensity of precipitation.
Precision and reliability: TheThies CLIMA LPM records precipitation with high sensitivity, including snow, hail, sleet, rain, drizzle and drizzle.
More than 300 measuring stations in operation:
Proof of the popularity and success of the Thies LNM.
Integration into the modernization of the Austrian freeway network by ASFINAG: Part of the strategy to secure modern traffic infrastructures and dynamic warnings.
Recommendation according to the evaluation results of the BAST (Federal Highway Research Institute) : The Thies LNM shows the highest agreement with synoptic observations.
Atacama Desert: On the trail of fog trapping and the air plant.
For over eight years, Thies CLIMA weather stations have been operating in the Atacama Desert to investigate fog as a sustainable source of water as part of a German-Chilean research project. The extremely dry region in northern Chile, with less than 1 mm of rain per year, places high demands on the measurement technology. Nevertheless, our technology delivers precise data under the most adverse conditions, such as salty air and extreme temperature fluctuations.
Our robust and flexible total meteorological solutions enable the investigation of local vegetation as a bioindicator for fog availability. The technical specifications of our sensors fulfil the requirements of the WMO. Learn more about the challenges and successes of this fascinating project ...
